Plugins

Starting from cpg1.4.x, coppermine comes with a plugin API that enables plugin authors to modify coppermine features without hacking the core code, making upgrading easier, as modifications don't have to be re-applied every time you upgrade your coppermine version. It's recommended to use plugins instead of code modifications that require hacking the core code.

This page is meant to provide an overview about the existing plugins.

Attention! As this overview isn't updated frequently, it's recommended to have a look at the appropriate plugin contributions boards for cpg1.4.x and cpg1.5.x if you haven't found your desired plugin.

Visit the plugin announcement thread by clicking on the plugin name. Download the plugin by clicking on the download icon () next to the plugin name. Click on the author name to see the plugin author's profile. Do not send unrequested private messages or emails to the plugin authors unless you have explicit permission from them! Visit the announcement thread for a particular plugin if you need support or to check if a newer version of the plugin is available.

Read up the documentation that comes with coppermine for details, e.g. how to install a plugin.

With most plugins comes a readme file that explains important details about the plugin - before asking for individual help, please make sure that you have read the plugin's readme file and corresponding announcement thread.

It will add ~20 kbyte of javascript to the page. This is a commonly used database administration tool recommended by the Coppermine Dev Team for the purposes of modifying your Coppermine tables manually or performing backups of the database. If you install it you will get a link on your admin menu that will load phpmyadmin in an iframe. It uses the database information from Coppermine so there is no additional configuration required. More specifically, each word that cannot be read correctly by OCR is placed on an image and used as a CAPTCHA. Feature removal	Final Extract	The final_extract plugin removes core blocks from the final HTML produced by Coppermine, just before it is displayed to the user on the web page. This is probably the best way to remove things like menu buttons and other core items like links and buttons throughout the various pages Coppermine produces. This plugin version comes with usergroup settings by admin panel: you can define for each usergroup the menu elements to display (or to hide). The settings are done by an admin panel. Visual enhancement	Mirror	This plugin generates a mirror-like reflection on displayimage.php just below the image. The effect is client-sided, so there's no additional server load. The effect is tested and works fine with IE>=6, Firefox >=1.5, Opera, Chrome, Safari. It's only 2,2 KByte of Javascript that is added to the page. Mirror will only work if "Insert a transparent overlay to minimize image theft" is deactivated. Feel free to adapt the size and opacity of the reflection by editing mirror.js to your needs. Otherwise, if the version that someone refers to in the announcement thread is newer than the version discussed on this page, use the newer version from the announcement thread
if you're a plugin author: don't worry, you don't have to do anything special to get your plugin listed here: the coppermine team members monitor all threads on the entire board, so you just need to create an announcement thread for your plugin or update your plugin in your announcement thread. Sooner or later (allow some days or even weeks to pass) this page will be updated and your new version will be added.
