Coppermine Logo Competition 2006 / 2007 - voting stage has started

+ 02 May 2007

The voting stage of the second round of the Coppermine Logo Competition 2006 / 2007 has started. As we had sad experiences in the first round with rating fraud, we had to limit the ability to vote: newly created accounts are not allowed to vote, but only members who have posted frequently on the board. Additionally, members of special groups are allowed to vote.
This being said, we would like to ask you to visit the album "Coppermine Logo Competition (Second round)" of the demo and vote for all submissions. If you don't have the voting icons beneath the intermediate-sized view, then you simply don't belong to a group that is allowed to vote. Everybody else is welcome to vote, preferably for all 17 submissions.

Preview for cpg1.5.x

+ 23 April 2007

The current development version of Coppermine (cpg1.5.x) has not been released yet (nor is there a scheduled release date). However, the preliminary documentation has been uploaded to a separate subdomain. You (as human user) are welcome to take a peek - you will get an idea of some of the features that will be in the future release (please understand though that the devel version goes unsupported; please don't ask questions about it on the support board). The main reason for uploading the documentation is the search feature that is scheduled for the cpg1.5.x-documentation: search engine spiders should index the documentation.

Coppermine Live-Demo

+ 31 July 2006

For those who want to preview Coppermine before actually installing it on a real production server we have created a Live-Demo. It is just a package that provides a local webserver with a pre-configured Coppermine install rolled into one package to preview the "real" Coppermine Photo Gallery on your Windows box. The webserver is being started by only executing one single file, so you don't have to go through the troubles of setting up a webserver environment on your local PC just for evaluation purposes. The sole purpose of the live-demo is to give you an impression how the admin backend of Coppermine looks and feels. It is only meant to be used for evaluation purposes. You mustn't run it as a production system, because it has deliberately been configured in an unsecure manner to provide a newbie-proof experience in the first place.
